The arrangement can only be made
from what is there in the garden
among the spring’s fresh birth.
Insistent rain enfolds
petals and blossoms—
without hindering—
accompanies hushed birds
and muffled traffic sounds,
distinct only in retrospect.
Last summer’s basket
in which I would have laid each piece
hasn’t turned up.
It’s been laid aside somewhere,
so I hold the fresh-clipped stems in my mouth.
Some taste bitter,
others earthen and whole.
Very lovely write… fosters so many memories and old thoughts of my own. So well done! Blessings to you and hope your weekend is wonderful! 😀
Thank you so much – wishing you the best as well~
Hi would it be okay if I nominated you for the super sweet blog award?
Thank you so much for thinking of me – I am glad you have found something here that has resonated. The answer is complicated, as is my relationship with awards. I’ve written about it… http://wp.me/p2R0UA-bt…
So, it is always okay – as long as by not following through on the requirements or displaying the badge I wouldn’t offend your kindness.
No worries 🙂 I won’t be offended. Best wishes! 😀
Satisfying…
Just the word I might have used to describe the experience itself…
“holding the fresh-clipped stems in my mouth
we carry each other”…. perfect…
Thank you so much. It was a line I particularly enjoyed writing, even if I wasn’t sure it would be meaningful to others… I appreciate you reading and taking the time to comment. Be well~
Mmmm, I know the feeling. Lovely moment expressed in its present loveliness.
It indeed was lovely, the type we desperately seek to recapture…and find something different… Blessings to you, ask always, Tasha.

Hmmm, makes me think of a salad that’s going on our menu, “The Spicy Dirt”, julienne radish, carrot, red onion, sweet Thai dressing on a bed of arugula and cress, yes, a composed salad….mmmm…
Love this moment captured, I can smell the earth.
Thank you, johnny, fun what connections can be made – be well~
