the shallow stream skirts
softened edges of a field —
emptiness surrounds
steady retreat on a path
through morning grey and stillness

Thanks for stopping by to comment on my blog. It gave me a chance to find this lovely poem and photo. The picture of the stream reminds me of one at the back of the field on the farm where I grew up in Ohio. What a sweet nostalgia for me. Thanks.
